Bridget Riley
Circles and Discs (1961–2023)

Exhibition

For the very first time, a large number of working drawings created by Bridget Riley, who wrote art history as a protagonist of Op Art, during her sixtyyear development as an artist will be shown. The exhibition mainly consists of working drawings that explore the potential of circular forms. They are preliminary studies for paintings and in some cases large-format wall works such as Composition with Circles 5 (2005) at the Akademie building on Pariser Platz.

Opening on Saturday, 27 April, 11 am

Speakers:
Peter Böthig, former Director Kurt Tucholsky Literaturmuseum Schloss Rheinsberg
Robert Kudielka, Member of the Visual Arts Section of Akademie der Künste
Angela Lammert, Head of Interdisciplinary Projects, Visual Arts Section of Akademie der Künste
