Hannah Höch visits John Heartfield’s garden
In 1920, the First International Dada Fair brought together the most important protagonists of the Berlin “Club Dada”, which is still credited with the discovery of artistic photomontage today. Together with John Heartfield, George Grosz and Raoul Hausmann, Hannah Höch was the only female artist of the time to discover, develop and shape this medium.
Based on notebook entries by Hannah Höch (1889–1978), AnniKa von Trier draws a portrait of the artist's life between the Weimar Republic, inner emigration during the Second World War and the post-war period until her death.
With poetic songs for accordion and texts between Anarchy & Anna Blume, a multi-layered homage to the Dada artist and Mother Courage of collage is created in John Heartfield's garden. Helmut Oehring complements the performance with a guest performance / SignMimo choreography entitled nichtERSTARREN.
