Shoah

Film Screening

With Shoah, Claude Lanzmann created one of the most relentless films about the genocide of European Jews. In his nine-and-a-half-hour film, which he worked on for eleven years, he meticulously uncovers the mechanisms of the extermination machinery and captures the agony of remembering in shocking scenes. In order to depict the “unrepresentable”, he dispenses with any archive material or commentary. The international literature festival berlin has initiated a worldwide screening on the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
