Milein Cosman
Apt observer Milein Cosman (1921–2017) donated a selection of portraits to the art collection of the Akademie der Künste shortly before her death. As a vivid panorama, they reflect the cultural life of post-war London, which was shaped by the exile of German artists. The accomplished draughtswoman bequeathed portraits of politicians, which she created in 1949 at the invitation of Konrad Adenauer on a trip to Bonn, to the art collection of the German Bundestag.
