Bernd Frank Theatre Posters From the Akademie der Künste’s Poster Collection
During the 1970s and 1980s, Berlin’s theatre landscape continued to make its mark on urban space, drawing public attention with prominent theatre posters on walls and advertising pillars. They reflected the essence of these stage productions, aroused curiosity and recalled memories of what had been seen. Bernd Frank designed some of the most impressive theatre posters made in this period. Nearly his entire oeuvre is housed in the Akademie der Künste’s Poster Collection. A selection of Frank’s diverse works, chosen by the artist himself, is on view.
